The local artist group From the Studio is having their Fall Show this week! The preview party is Weds, Oct 24, from 5 to 8 pm. Thursday and Friday hours are 9:30 am to 5:30 pm. Saturday hours are 9:30 am to 4 pm. The show is at University United Methodist Church at 2220 North Yale (across from WSU).
The artists in the group display a variety of items, ranging from jewelry to paintings, soaps to notecards, tie-dye to chalkware. Many ASGers have been to previous shows and give them rave reviews!
The Wichita Art Museum is displaying “Art of the Needle: Masterpiece Quilts from the Shelburne Museum” from October 14 to January 13, 2008 and “Kansas Quilts from the Prairie Quilt Guild” from October 21 to January 6, 2008.
They are sponsoring a free symposium on Saturday, October 27, 2007 from 1 to 4 pm. There will be lectures from 4 “Kansas scholars, historians, and quilt makers.” If you are interested, call 268-4917 to register!

The October meeting of the east side neighborhood group will be Tuesday, October 16, 7 pm at Needle Nook. The topic will be techniques for fancy hems. Any ASG member is welcome — regardless of where you live!
