Our January retreat this weekend was very productive! We were all so focused on our individual projects we pretty much forgot to play with stamping…so I guess we’ll just have to do it again some time…

Mary Ann was working on an evening gown to wear to a reunion:

Barbara made a Fajita skirt for her granddaughter:

Dora Mae pieced a patriotic vest:

Theresa sews so fast that Saturday she wore a shirt she needle felted, stamped AND sewed on Friday!

We did have one brave soul working on curtains…the big cutting tables and lack of four-legged helpers made wrestling that fabric a bit easier:

As for Becky, Marilyn, Shirley and Julia…well, I didn’t get their pictures taken. Oops!

We had a lot of fun, some truly wonderful soups, and got a lot of sewing done. You should join us next time!

We All “Felt” Fine

At our January meeting, Pat Plett of Knits ETC taught us about handmade felt. She discussed wet felting, starting from fiber, woven fabric and knit fabric. janmtgpat03_blog.jpg

She then showed us needle, or dry, felting by hand and machine. Very cool!
