August Meeting

August 12, 2007

Our August meeting was held on a toasty Tuesday last week. There were two parts to the program — a fashion show by 4H’ers and a report on the National conference.

The 4H’ers were showing off their county fair outfits, and they did some marvelous work! We were blown away by the cute clothes and serious skills these girls showed us:

(There were several great outfits modeled at the evening meeting, too, but my pictures were dreadful. Sorry…)

Then, Betty and Julia reported back on the National conference. They showed off several things they did in hands on workshops, let everyone look through books and patterns they bought at the conference and on field trips, and encouraged everyone to start planning now to attend the conference in Chicago next year and/or Albuquerque in 2009.

Well, the national ASG conference in Sacramento has come and gone…and it was a blast! Our own Denise Dias was elected to the National Board of Directors — way to go Denise! Here she is, in her Regional Rep tiara, presenting awards for volunteer, member, and chapters of the year:

We had two CAB members attending…here they are:

Next year’s conference is in Chicago — start saving your pennies <grin>
